Role Model

If I were to model my life after one celebrity it would have to be Oprah Winfrey. Oprah Winfrey is the perfect person to view as a role model and a hero. She was born in Mississippi and lived with her grandmother until she was six years old. She then moved in with her mother. Her and her mother lived together in poverty and struggled each day. Oprah was discouraged in many ways by her mother and was abused by her relatives. It was extremely hard for her to receive an education because her mother did not think she was capable of doing so. Luckily, her dad came into the picture and Oprah ended up moving in with him where she received an education and became the wonderful woman she is today.

Oprah Winfrey took what she learned as a young child and now uses her experiences to help people around the world. I would definitely choose her to model my life after because she is a true definition of a giver. She not only helps the poor in Africa, but also helps those surrounding her that are in need. Besides helping the unfortunate, she hosts a talk show where she provides great advice and helps people who are in tough situations. It is evident that she is a millionaire but instead of being greedy, she uses what she has and can afford, to better the lives of others.

Overall, Oprah has dedicated her entire life to improving other people's lives. She gives her best selflessly and does not expect anything in return. Even though she has had a tough childhood she still treats everyone with love and care. She teaches everyone to pick themselves up through hard times and to forgive, but most of all she teaches us to believe; to believe in ourselves and in our dreams. Because of all of these positive characteristics and traits that Oprah has, she is my role model and I look up to her.
